ProjectThe Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.Job SummaryWoodfibre LNG is looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems at our facility. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dedicated team that ensures the safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of the Woodfibre LNG Plant.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the commissioning and start-up of the LNG plant at both the Squamish site as well as our yard in China if requiredPerform scheduled preventative, predictive, routine, turnaround and emergency maintenance of industrial electrical equipment, including motors, starters, VFDs, UPS systems, EHT, relays, breakers, switchgear, etcTroubleshoot electrical systems, including 120V-4160V circuits, control systems, HVAC, cathodic protection, and electrical heat traceInspect electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, and perform necessary repairsTransformer monitoring and maintenance on dry and oil bath typesInterpret drawings, apply the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), and follow installation standardsExperience working with 600V,
4160V systems. HV experience considered an assetProvide technical support and advice for maintenance planning and project personnelEnsure compliance with safety procedures, including Arc Flash and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)Knowledgeable of DCS systems, PLC's, and HMI'sRespond to after‑hour callouts and maintain a safe, organized work environmentSupport the site's maintenance program, including keeping up‑to‑date records of all maintenance, repairs, and calibrations performed via our CMMSReview process flow drawings, equipment lists, and specifications to resolve work proceduresCollaborate with internal teams and third‑party service providersContribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance key performance indicatorsHSSE100% compliance with company HSE policies and guidelinesChampion HSE as a member of the LNG Operations TeamLead HSE Shift Meeting/safety walks/audits if and when requiredTimely intervention to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of personnel and plantDemonstrate a personal commitment to influence overall safety behavior in the plantSafeguarding systems check lists are implemented/completed by Shift Operations to agreed frequencies and standardsExecute plant wide operations hazards awareness programInitiate inputs for plant risk register and mitigation tracking process for operationsRequirementsRequired ExperienceMinimum 5+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experienceValid British Columbia Journeyman ticket or Red Seal certificationDual Electrical & Instrumentation ticket considered an assetExperience with Medium Voltage VFD's considered an assetPrevious Commissioning and Start‑up experience an assetAdditional ExperienceEnergetic in pursuit of continuous improvement processesExperience working with large multi‑disciplinary teams, and contractors in a multicultural setting is an asset.Communication/interpersonal skills – to be able to interact with front line workers through to management and all hierarchical levels.Exceptional written and verbal communication skillsMotivated and willing to take ownership of tasksAbility to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks, targets and changing priorities within tight time framesShares knowledge readily and encourages personal developmentDemonstrated computer knowledge with experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, etcA valid driver's license (with abstract) and passportMust be legally entitled to work in CanadaThis role will be a combination of office and site‑based roleThe position is based in Squamish, BC (Project Site), and work in the Company's Vancouver Office as requiredOnly qualified candidates legally entitled to work in Canada will be contacted.Thank you in advance for your interest!Woodfibre Management Ltd. is an equal opportunity employer.Woodfibre LNG reserves the right to amend the job description, including the title, duties, and qualification from time to time in its sole discretion.BenefitsHourly Rate: CAD $60/hr#J-18808-Ljbffr
