Quality/Reliability Engineer (Powertrain) (14220)We are recruiting an experienced Quality/Reliability Engineer (Powertrain) to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.RESPONSIBILITIESImplement commodity-specific business plans to ensure your suppliers exceed all corporate launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle deliveryLead cross-functional decisions with supplier leadership to drive resolution of open issuesImplement actions to ensure zero vehicle losses from suppliersPrincipal for on-site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situationsLead adherence to corporate standards (i.E.Q1)Lead Critical Supplier Process to drive Supplier Quality Reject (QR) performance improvementParticipate in Whiteboard reviews and assigned sub-system VRT (Variability Reduction Team) meetingsDrive resolution of external supplier process -1MIS and 0MIS warranty concernsSupport QR procedures by supporting concern binning, reviewing threshold QRs, and providing support for QR Dispute resolutionAssist the Incoming Quality (IQ) department with non-responsive suppliersAssist suppliers and plants in QR/PPM (Parts Per Million) data accuracyDrive assessment & validation of manufacturing feasibility at identified supplier sitesExecute the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP)Use available data, metrics, and business plans to drive future sourcing decisions ensuring improved future qualityImplement commodity-specific business plans to ensure your suppliers exceed all corporate launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle deliveryLead on-site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situationsCoordinate part quality confirmation process for suppliers with repetitive containment failureLead containment of special-cause supplier process -1MIS and 0MIS BSAQ (Balanced Single Agenda for Quality) projectsAlign with VRT on Supplier Process (SP)



BSAQ issues for Glidepath valuesProvide early notification to and engage the STA Site team on potential Stop Shipments related to supplier process (SP)Provide support in containing supplier Stop Ship issuesAssist Site STA team with vehicle On-Hold and Release process trackingWork with Stop Ship stakeholders to support accurate root cause for Prevent Action Closure (PAC) process reportingMonitor daily production report (DPR) and provide notification to STA management for issues that require Site STA team awareness/interventionAct as direct Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) resident supplier representative and liaison between STA and plant managementSupport Daily Plant Quality Meetings (or PIC Room) to report on containment of SP ECB (Early Concern Binning) issues, participate in VRT forums, lead supplier preparation for VQRs (Vehicle Quality Review)REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree5+ years experience in one or more, but not limited to the following manufacturing process: Casting, Machining, Welding, Brazing, Sintering, Automated/Manual Assembly Processes, Controls Automation programming, AIAG APQP, Quality Assurance/Control, Quality Control, PPAP processes, Problem Solving, MachiningOTHER PERKS & BENEFITSPaid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)MEDA offers an excellent referral bonus.
