The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for providing accurate medication dispensing, patient counselling, and ensuring compliance with all provincial and federal regulations. The successful candidate will utilize available patient information to assess medication history and provide appropriate clinical recommendations. The Pharmacist also ensures that prescriptions are filled promptly, meet all health and safety requirements, and support the needs of both the pharmacy team and the community it serves.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical ServicesProvide safe, effective, and patient-centered dispensing of prescriptionsCounsel patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and interactionsAdminister vaccines and other injections in accordance with Provincial regulationsSupport and expand clinical services, such as medication reviews, compliance packaging, and chronic disease managementAct as a liaison with nearby clinics, healthcare providers and other community stakeholders to coordinate patient centric careEnsure full compliance with privacy and confidentiality requirements including consent managementRegulatory ComplianceEnsure compliance with the College of Pharmacy of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPNL), Newfoundland Ministry of Health, Health Canada, and other applicable legislationMaintain accurate patient records, prescription documentation,
and inventory control in accordance with regulatory standardsImplement and monitor policies for safe storage, handling, and disposal of medicationsCollaboration and Team SupportWork cooperatively with the pharmacy team (including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and assistants) to maintain an efficient and positive team environmentPromote health and wellness and participate in community activities such as clinics and educational eventsContribute to problem solving discussions and recommend improvements to enhance service quality and operational efficiencyParticipate in training activities by sharing knowledge, and advancing skill development as requiredFoster a positive and collaborative work environmentQualificationsLicensed and in positive standing with the College of Pharmacy of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPNL)Injections and vaccines Certification in NewfoundlandPrior community pharmacy experience (preferred)Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, regulatory standards, and best practicesAttention to detail, and commitment to accuracyOutstanding communication, and interpersonal skills both written and verbalAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office#J-18808-Ljbffr
