The subsystems are grouped by warfare area: Above Water Warfare (AWW), Underwater Warfare (UWW), Electronic Warfare (EW) and Communications.ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and responsible Systems Engineering member for Above Water Warfare subsystems and will participate in engineering activities including but not limited to:Collaborating on system requirements and trade study activities with engineering and program staff during Proposal Capture development phase:To define or derive the subsystem level requirements from customer requirementsTo participate in the naval military industry survey and selection of viable subsystems candidate solutions that will meet customer requirementsTo perform assessment on requirement compliances,



technical performance and technical risk of the candidate subsystem solutionsBased on the trade studies done recommend the subsystem solution.Provide support for Requirements AnalysisProvide support for System Modelling and DesignProvide support for definition and tracking of Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs)Provide support for System Architecture and DesignProvide support for System Integration PlanningProvide support for Design DocumentationProvide support for Verification and ValidationFollow systems engineering processes and best practices.Basic QualificationsPossess a Bachelors' degree from an accredited university in software, hardware, systems, mechanical, electrical or electronics engineering or a related discipline.Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience with AWW subsystemsRadars - Surveillance, Fire ControlInterrogator Friend or Foe (IFF)Electro-Optical/Infrared SensorsMissilesGunsEquivalent experience/combined education will be consideredCommunicate effectively with technical and non-technical members of the engineering/management staff and personnel assigned to related workAptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environmentHave a high degree of initiative and autonomyHave a high learning abilityAbility to adapt and perform in a energetic environment.Desired SkillsExperience with Software, Systems, Hardware or Maintenance engineering lifecyclesFamiliarity with SysML or other object-oriented design methodologyFamiliarity with DOORS, Cameo, Clearcase, Clearquest or WindchillExperience with Agile methods and JIRA or similar toolsExperience with Military Naval domainExperience with Sensors, Weapons or Ship integrationExperience with Subcontract Management or Supply Chain ManagementExperience with Change Management, Requirements Management, Test and trials, Security, Safety, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)/ Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) or Environmental Qualification.
