Job DescriptionAECOM is searching for a well‐connected and skilled individual to lead our teams and projects in the Prairie region. Candidates should have extensive consulting experience to build relationships internally and externally and use their municipal infrastructure experience, client relationship and account management experience to grow opportunities within Calgary and surrounding areas.The Senior Municipal/Civil Engineer role is a blend of project execution, team guidance and management, marketing/business development and workgroup administration functions. The qualified applicant will have an understanding and significant experience in civil engineering projects, in the areas of water, sanitary and stormwater systems and construction management principles. You will have extensive experience with the design, construction, operations and maintenance of municipal infrastructure systems. This role will include team building, mentoring staff, client management and proposal preparation.Responsibilities of this position include:Contribute significantly to the successful design, production, coordination and management of municipal infrastructure projectsEffectively manage projects on time and on budget with quality, meeting client expectationsWork closely with other discipline Engineers, Designers and Project Managers as a key team player within an integrated multi‐disciplinary project delivery teamDemonstrate commitment to excellence and innovationEnsure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with QA/QC programsEnsure that engineering deliverables comply with applicable regulations, standards,
corporate procedures and sound engineering practicesWillingness to work flexible schedule under a variety of conditionsPrepare project designs and tender documentsSupervise and provide guidance to technical staffAssist in the preparation of proposals and budget estimatesComply with corporate safety goals and internal project management systemsQualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and 8+ years of consulting experience in the planning, design and construction of municipal infrastructure or water resources related projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationRegistered as a Professional Engineer in Alberta or ability to obtain within 6 monthsPreferred Qualifications:15+ years of consulting experience in the planning, design and construction of municipal infrastructure or water resources related projectsPrevious experience overseeing and coordinating all technical aspects of small to mid‐size projectsStrong computer skills including advanced working knowledge of Word and ExcelExcellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills as well as effective report writingNatural business development capabilities and strong client relationship management skills are an assetAdditional InformationSponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.To support this commitment, all newly hired employees are required to attend an in‐person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
