The Problems You’ll SolveAs an Associate Fund Controller, you will help provide leverage to our clients by understanding and prioritizing their needs while effectively scaling our CFO services. Some of the strategic support we provide includes:Capital calls and distributionsAudit/tax supportPre- and post-close servicesQuarterly and annual financialsLimited Partner communicationsYou will bring transparency to founders, VCs, General Partners, Limited Partners, and now private credit managers by helping them utilize Carta’s tools and resources such as:Real-time IRRReal-time portfolio dataCredit investment performance metrics and exposure reportingYou’ll also:Improve our product and software through collaborating with product and engineering teams to continue to develop our Private Equity product suiteTurn a service industry into a software business through consulting with clients and implementing our fund administration softwareInteract with clients on a daily basis and manage effective client relationshipsInteract with external auditors and tax providersReview all client deliverables, including financial packages, capital calls, distributions, credit facility reporting, and ad‑hoc client requestsAssist Directors to execute new and current processes within the teamEnsure the accounting team is SOC‑compliant in all processes and proceduresThe Impact You’ll HaveOur goal is to position Carta as the leading Fund Administration provider across Venture Capital, Private Equity, and Private Credit. This is a unique opportunity to work cross‑functionally with our product, engineering, go‑to‑market, and operations teams while expanding your domain knowledge in an exciting and growing asset class.
You will also help guide and mentor junior team members.About You4+ years of experience in Fund AdministrationCPA or CMA preferredPrior experience working with or within a fund administrator or private credit investment firm preferredYou have experience maintaining, managing, and nurturing multiple client relationshipsYou’re interested in providing best‑in‑class serviceYou have experience interpreting and understanding Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs)You can review financial statements and footnotes, ensuring consistency with relevant GAAP (US GAAP, IFRS) and industry practiceYou are experienced with Waterfall calculations, management fees, and carried interest allocations in both Private Credit and VC/PE structuresYou have worked on complex entity structures, including master‑feeder and parallel fund structures, and are comfortable with consolidated reportingYou possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision‑making skillsYou are an effective communicator, excel at multi‑tasking, and are deadline‑drivenYou have a deep understanding of Venture Capital, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, and Private Credit marketsYou’re proficient in Microsoft Office and have experience with relevant systems such as Xero, Investran, QuickBooks, and other Private Credit‑specific platformsYou have worked with general ledger systems and have implemented new systems or workflowsYou enjoy working in projects in a fast‑paced setting, both independently and within a collaborative teamYou leverage technology to automate processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the client experienceYou enjoy mentoring and developing talent within the teamDisclosures:We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to providing a positive interview experience for every candidate.
