Senior Electrical Reliability Specialist – Motors & Rotating EquipmentOverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Reliability Specialist with deep expertise in electric motor systems, diagnostics, and rotating equipment reliability.In this senior-level role, you will lead the development and execution of electrical reliability programs, with a focus on improving asset performance, minimizing downtime, and delivering advanced technical insights across industrial operations.You will act as a technical authority and mentor, working closely with field teams, engineers, and clients to diagnose complex issues and implement long-term reliability solutions. This role also plays a key part in standardizing practices, building technical frameworks, and strengthening organizational capability across reliability programs.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Expertise & DiagnosticsPerform advanced assessment and diagnostics on:AC/DC motorsVFD-driven systemsCritical rotating equipmentExecute electrical testing using specialized tools (e.G., Megger®, PdMA MCE, multimeters)Apply advanced diagnostic techniques, including:Electrical Signature Analysis (ESA)Current signature analysisVibration analysis (electrical fault focus)Rotor bar and air gap analysisSurge and partial discharge testingInsulation resistance testingDiagnose failures related to:Stator and rotor faultsEccentricity and imbalanceMisalignment and soft footPower quality and harmonicsMotor control and VFD systemsAsset Reliability & Program LeadershipDevelop and enhance motor reliability and asset health programs, including:Condition-based monitoring (CBM)



strategiesPredictive maintenance plansFleet health assessments and criticality analysisLead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for motors and electrical system failuresEstablish and standardize testing procedures, reporting frameworks, and best practicesDrive continuous improvement in installation, commissioning, alignment, and maintenance practicesPower Systems & ControlsAnalyze electrical system documentation, including:Single-line diagramsWiring and control schematicsProtection and relay coordination schemesSupport commissioning, tuning, and troubleshooting of:VFDs and soft startersMotor Control Centers (MCCs)Protection relays and control systemsEvaluate system performance under various load and fault conditionsField & Customer SupportPartner with customers to improve system performance and reliability outcomesProvide detailed technical reports, including:Testing resultsAsset condition insightsActionable recommendationsSupport field teams during shutdowns, turnarounds, and critical maintenance activitiesSafety & ComplianceChampion a strong safety culture, adhering to:LOTO proceduresArc flash standardsCSA, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, and NEMA guidelinesEnsure all work meets regulatory and industry standardsQualifications & ExperienceEducation & CertificationsDiploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringTrade certification (e.G.,



Journeyman Electrician or Power System Electrician) is an assetRelevant certifications are highly valued, such as:NETA Level II–IVMotor diagnostics (PdMA, IRIS, etc.)Vibration Analysis (Category I–II)Reliability or maintenance certificationsExperienceMinimum 5+ years of experience in industrial electrical reliability and motor diagnosticsHands‑on experience with:Motor circuit analysis tools (e.G., PdMA)Electrical signature analysis systemsExperience with VFD systems, harmonics, and power quality impactsProven ability to lead initiatives and mentor technical teamsCore CompetenciesStrong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities in complex environmentsHigh attention to detail and technical documentation standardsExcellent communication and customer engagement skillsSelf-driven with robust initiative and ownership mindsetAbility to collaborate effectively while also working independentlyAdditional RequirementsValid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving recordWillingness to travel and work in industrial environments and varying site conditionsWhat You BringCommitment to safety, integrity, and technical excellenceAbility to translate complex technical issues into clear, practical solutionsPassion for continuous improvement and knowledge sharingWe are an equal opportunity employer.
