DRA Global is a diversified, global engineering, project delivery and operations management group with an impressive track record spanning over three decades.As the Partner of first choice, DRA Global aims to attract, recruit and retain the best talent in the marketplace; in doing so we have developed a solid organizational culture focused on Safety, Integrity, Courage, Innovation, Trust and People to ultimately deliver the best results for clients.We are seeking an Electrical Engineer based out of our Toronto Office.Reporting to DRA’s Head of Department, you will be responsible for the engineering and electrical project design activities relating to concept, pre‑feasibility, feasibility studies, EPCM and EPC projects.Main functions include (but not limited to):Technical SupportPackage ManagementSite SupportDocumentation and handoverResponsibilitiesCarry out innovative detailed designs as required for specific disciplines following good engineering practicesEnsure that the discipline designs are carried out in accordance with client standards and specifications, industry standards and the relevant legislation (quality of design)Ensure (certified) design information received from vendors, contractors and consultants is accurate and interfaces with other designsEnsure the effective (peer) review and approval of discipline designEnsure continuous improvement, lessons learnt, value engineering, fit for purpose and latest technologies are implementedCarry the responsibility for the engineering discipline sign offInterface with internal and external design and drafting disciplinesProvide discipline inputs for studies and proposalsProvide engineering support to the site teamPerform commissioning discipline activitiesManage the mark‑up and back‑drafting of redline drawingsMentoring of subordinators if applicableTakes ownership for personal development (within industry through registration and within company)Operational ManagementProvide input into all SHE matters,
actively participate and promote a total safety culture.Manage the program (time), cost, quality, risk and scope of assigned procurement packages.Ensure assigned packages are installed / constructed in accordance with the project & vendor specificationsManage, inspect and release the relevant items of procurement, fabrication and construction within area of discipline and responsibilityParticipate in the Total Safety Culture of DRA and site safety requirementsAssist with the commissioning of the assigned packages in accordance with the project & vendor specificationsEnsure that reports are structured, accurate, complete and well presentedDisplay proactive communication with project team with respect to discipline interface and problem solvingManage personal and design/drafting budget man‑hoursManage budget as allocated per discipline/procurement packageEnsure designs produced are in accordance with capital budget and quantitiesEnsure suitable contract management is applied to managed procurement packagesClient RelationsEnsures that all interactions with Clients are conducted in professional and respectful mannerEnsures that Clients are kept informed and up to date on status of project technical aspectsEnsures that DRA remains the Clients engineering service provider of choiceLiaises and co‑ordinates with the client’s discipline engineers to ensure adherence to project and client requirements and specificationsRequirements8+ years experience in a similar role within the multi‑disciplinary Mining & Minerals Processing EPCM environmentBachelor’s degree in Electrical EngineeringEmployment typePermanentWe value diversity and the advantages it brings to achieving our objectives, enhancing our reputation, and attracting, engaging, and retaining talented people.
