Our client is seeking a Life, Learning and Leisure (LLL) Facilitator to support the holistic well-being of residents in alignment with the 6 Dimensions of Wellness: physical, intellectual, emotional, occupational, spiritual, and social. Reporting to the Community Manager, this dynamic, resident-focused professional designs and delivers innovative programs while coaching staff, residents, volunteers, and external partners to create meaningful onsite and offsite experiences. The ideal candidate brings collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to best practices that enhance seniors’ quality of life.

Responsibilities

Represent and promote the Life, Learning and Leisure philosophy within the organization and broader community

Design, facilitate, and adapt innovative programs aligned with the six Dimensions of Wellness, incorporating resident interests and emerging practices

Promote resident participation in group and individual programs; engage regularly to gather input and build connections

Coach and support employees, residents, and volunteers in leading and participating in programs and events

Collaborate with external facilitators and providers to ensure high-quality delivery

Coordinate logistics for programs and events, including space, materials, and leaders

Plan, organize, and promote engaging onsite and offsite experiences

Support current residents in connecting with Life, Learning and Leisure opportunities

Monitor participation and engagement; provide observations and recommendations for program improvement





Collect and report quantitative and qualitative data on participation, facilitator effectiveness, and volunteer contributions; deliver quarterly reports

Lead monthly resident meetings on programs, events, and initiatives; act on feedback

Maintain, clean, and safely store all program equipment and supplies

Manage program budgets, track expenditures, and source cost-effective materials in line with financial guidelines

Qualifications

Passion for and experience working with older adults

Post-secondary education or training in recreation, leisure, or gerontology preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered

Experience designing, adapting, and delivering programs

Creativity, innovation, enthusiasm, and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Willingness to grow, learn, and be challenged in a learning environment

Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills

Experience coaching, coordinating, and supporting volunteers an asset

Strong customer service orientation with solid presentation skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Canvas, and SharePoint

WHMIS, First Aid, Food Safety, and ProServe certification (or willingness to obtain)

Working Conditions

Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required for occasional travel

Work across primary and alternate locations

Flexibility to adapt to changing duties and routines; ability to work under occasional stress
