Embark on a fully funded 4-year PhD project in Nuclear Science with UK-National Nuclear Laboratory starting October 2026. Explore self-assembling systems and third-phase formation with hands-on computational modeling.

This unique chance requires candidates to hold a 2.1 honours degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or similar fields. As part of the Nuclear Doctoral Focal Award in Radiation Protection, you will delve into crucial research impacting energy and waste management. Collaborate across four universities with a national program involving 18 industrial partners for an exceptional educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct Molecular Dynamics simulations to study third-phase formation
• Identify organic solutes for controlling gel-like structures




• Develop molecular thermodynamic models for phase behavior
• Collaborate with experts in nuclear safety and radiation protection
• Participate in cohort training sessions across multiple universities

Requirements:
• 2.1 honours degree or equivalent in relevant field
• UK residency for eligibility
• Strong background in Chemical Engineering or related sciences
• Interest in nuclear industry applications
• Willingness to collaborate in multidisciplinary settings
