Job Description
The Jewish Security Network is hiring a Monitoring Analyst to join the Integrated Security Operations Centre (ISOC). The monitoring analyst is responsible for near-real-time monitoring, threat triage, investigative follow-up, and ongoing research into relevant platforms, narratives, and actors. Reporting to the ISOC Director, the Monitoring Analyst will coordinate the research collection plan in consultation with, and under the direction of, the Research Manager, and ensure monitoring missions are prepared and executed based on the threat landscape and needs of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Monitor online platforms and digital channels in near real time to identify potential threats, hostile narratives, suspicious behavior, and other relevant security indicators

Build, refine, and maintain keyword queries, watchlists, dashboards, and alerting workflows using OSINT and monitoring tools

Review and triage findings quickly, identify what matters, and escape urgent issues when needed

Conduct rapid initial assessments as well as deeper investigative work on incidents, actors, networks, and patterns

Support broader research efforts by improving monitoring coverage and contributing to field-specific investigations

Produce clear alerts, summaries, reports, and recommendations for internal stakeholders

Work closely with cross-functional teams to support timely information sharing and operational awareness





Stay current on threat trends, platform changes, language shifts, and new tools relevant to community security monitoring

Support all other research efforts as needed

We are seeking someone who possesses the following skillset:

Proven experience in a security, risk, fraud, intelligence, trust and safety, or monitoring role

Strong analytical judgment and the ability to distinguish credible threats from noise

Familiarity with social media platforms, forums, messaging environments, and open web research

2 years of experience with OSINT tools and monitoring workflows required

Fluent in English with strong written communication skills and the ability to produce clear operational reporting

Comfort working in a fast-paced setting that may require responsiveness outside standard hours when needed

Collaborative mindset, sound judgment, and strong sense of discretion

Familiarity with databases, knowledge management, or structured research workflows

Basic technical ability in areas such as Python, SQL, automation, or scripting is an advantage

Familiarity with fringe platforms or dark web environments is a strong plus

This full-time, in office position will pay a salary of $80,000/year with a full benefits package. Successful applicants will be required to pass a police background check and must be permitted to work in Canada.
