Landscape Technician - Maintenance Assistants

No previous landscaping experience is required — we’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will support crews delivering grounds maintenance services across a variety of sites. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, values teamwork, and wants a stable, full-time opportunity with a company that invests in its people.
Maintenance Assistants work closely with the Foreperson and Lead Hand to ensure maintenance contracts are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
Key Requirements
Perform lawn care duties including mowing, trimming, edging, blowing debris, fertilizing, and watering turf areas
Assist with planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and bulbs
Weed, prune, and trim trees, shrubs, and plants
Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely and efficiently
Operate power equipment including lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning tools, aerators, power rakes, and sod cutters
Move, load, and transport materials using wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, shovels, and manual lifting
Assist with job site setup, organization, and cleanup to maintain a safe and professional work environment
Load and unload materials, tools,
and equipment required to complete maintenance service contracts
Support the Foreperson and Lead Hand with daily job-related tasks
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards
Communicate politely and professionally with clients or site contacts as required
Perform other related duties as needed to support maintenance operations
Qualifications
No previous landscaping or maintenance experience required — training provided
Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude
Enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions
Physically fit with the stamina required for manual labour
Ability to safely operate tools and equipment (or willingness to learn)
Reliable, punctual, and dependable
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to follow direction while also working independently when required
Commitment to company core values, including honesty, integrity, kindness, and courtesy
Preference given to candidates with a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Pay
$23.50-$27.50
