Position Title Relief Child Care Educator
Position Summary
Are you looking for casual work? Short term long term casual work? Do you have a passion in supporting the development for young children? Then we welcome you to join the team at Red Deer Polytechnic’s Child Care Centre .
Hours are on an as needed basis dependent upon operational and staffing needs.
The Relief Child Care Educator is responsible for providing quality child care that meets the needs of children and their families. The hourly rate for this position is starting at $20.70 per hour. In addition to the regular wage, your certification level will determine the wage top up from the government grant.
Position Responsibilities
Red Deer Polytechnic Children’s Program is looking for:
A candidate that will maintain a safe environment in keeping with provincial standards
A candidate that can implement problem solving strategies and behavior modification strategies
Values the importance of play, both inside and out
A candidate that will support the primary Child Care Educators in the delivery of planned activities and follow through with the routines for the day
The Relief Educator helps support the holistic development and supervision of children when primary Educators are not available
Required Qualifications
Infant/Child First Aid
Clean Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check
Minimum Child Care Level 1 Educator, Day Care Qualification Certificate
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent play skills, energetic and flexibility of schedule
Preferred Qualifications
Level 2 or 3 Child Care Educator certification.
Completion of a 1-year college certificate, or one year university equivalency.
WHMIS
Food Handlers Certificate
Salary or Hourly?
Hourly
Salary Starting at $22.18 per hour
Benefits and Compensation Information
An additional 15% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits.
