Shift: Days and Nights (2 weeks days and 2 weeks nights)

We are seeking a Full-Time Industrial Electrician – Red Seal 442A to join our growing team.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and regulatory policies, and practices ensuring protected, efficient and consistent operation and maintenance of equipment and processes.
- Understand and perform safety responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lockout and emergency response.
- Perform daily checks (continuity, current, voltage and resistance) and diagnostics on equipment.
- Repair, install and test equipment (Transformers, regulators, motors, generators, electrical control systems).
- Design control panels and install circuit power distribution.
- Interpret the requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code and ensure compliance.
- Respond to emergencies during breakdowns.
- PLC programming (A.P.I.).
- Perform preventive maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and maintenance costs, and manage equipment efficiencies.
- Perform downtime repair work; troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Maintain and troubleshoot industrial equipment and PLC-controlled machinery.
- Ensure that all work completed meets regulatory guidelines, manufacturers’ specifications and internal maintenance procedures.




- Read electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.
- Interpret, complete and record work orders.
- Maintain proper documentation, including logs, maintenance records, safety and environment reports.

Qualifications

- Industrial Electrician with Inter-Provincial Certificate of Qualification (Red Seal – 442A).
- At least 5 years of experience in an industrial environment as an Electrician, preferably in the steel industry.
- Experience with Siemens 5/7 is an asset.
- Grade 12 High School Diploma.
- Comfortable working day and night shifts – 8-to-12-hour shifts.
- Previous experience using computer software applicable to maintenance operations.
- Demonstrated analytical skills.
