Fraser Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse for the Mental Health and Substance Use Services focusing on older adults. Make a meaningful impact through recovery-oriented care and assessments.
In this role, you will assess and coordinate care for older patients needing psychiatric support. By developing collaborative care plans and facilitating effective treatment sessions, you will ensure the emotional and physical wellbeing of your clients. Engagement with families and an interdisciplinary team is crucial to promote effective outcomes and client advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess, plan, and evaluate nursing care for older adult clients
• Collaborate on psycho-social rehabilitative plans with the care team
• Facilitate individual/group treatments employing diverse therapeutic methods
• Monitor clients' conditions and provide crisis interventions
• Advocate for clients’ rights and secure care environments
Requirements:
• Graduation from an approved nursing program
• Minimum one year related mental health experience
• Registration as a RN or RPN in British Columbia
• Possible requirement of substance use certificate
• Familiarity with substance use and mental illness treatment
