Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. Our Scarborough Subway Extension Office is seeking to hire a Project Analyst to support the delivery of transit facilities for the Scarborough Subway extension (i.e., underground Stations, Rail & Systems (SRS). The Project Analyst works as part of the project Controls Team, in a cooperative environment comprised of multi-disciplinary teams, designers, technical advisors, subject matter experts and contractors overseeing the day-to-day design and construction to deliver the project on-time, on budget and in a safe and standardized manner.

What will I be doing?

Work seamlessly in a collaborative One Team environment with a project team comprised of both Metrolinx and non-Metrolinx employees. Foster a unified approach, leveraging the diverse skills and perspectives within the team for optimal project outcomes.

Assist in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

Support cost tracking, forecasting, and budget monitoring activities to ensure alignment with project objectives.





Track project performance metrics and identify variances, escalating issues to senior team members as required.

Assist in the development and maintenance of project controls documentation, including work breakdown structures (WBS), cost reports, and change logs.

Support risk management processes by maintaining risk registers and tracking mitigation actions.
Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to collect project data and ensure accuracy of reporting.

Participate in project meetings, including progress reviews and coordination sessions, and document key actions and outcomes.

Assist with change management processes, including tracking change orders and supporting impact analysis on schedule and cost.

Support audits and reviews by maintaining accurate and up-to-date project records.

Manage Reporting & Analytics: Prepare and maintain monthly analytical reports—including cost, budget, schedule performance, and project metrics dashboards - to Maintain Cross-Functional Relationships: Build and sustain collaborative relationships with teams in estimating, scheduling, cost control, risk management, document control, change management, and quality management.

Drive Continuous Improvement: Adhere to quality standards, identify issues proactively, and support ongoing process improvements to achieve key performance indicators.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

Relevant Education: Graduate with a degree in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Technology, Science, Project Management).





Demonstrated relevant experience in project control or project management in transit projects or construction projects of similar magnitude and complexity

Experience with project life cycle including design, construction, and commissioning of multi-disciplinary transit projects

Attention to Detail & Organization: Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines, paired with strong planning and organizational skills.

Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Proven ability to apply analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to effectively manage real-world challenges.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software such as Primavera P6, ProjectWise, CostX, Unifier is considered an asset.

Effective Communication: Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a track record of successful collaboration in large, matrixed teams.

Cross-Functional Training: Openness to engaging in cross-functional training across project controls disciplines like estimating, scheduling, cost control, risk management, document control, change management, quality management, and reporting.

Continuous Improvement Mindset: A LEAN or continual improvement mindset that actively questions the status quo to enhance processes and work methods.
