At Velocity Machining & Welding, accurate estimation and smart planning drive every project we build. We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Estimator to support our team by evaluating job requirements, calculating production costs, and preparing accurate quotes for our machine and fabrication shop.

About the Role
As a Junior Estimator, you will assist in assessing costs for custom machine parts and fabrications by analyzing material needs, labor expenses, and machining/welding cycle times. Working closely with senior estimators, shop trades, and customers, you will build strong client relationships, quote jobs accurately, and generate work orders in our ERP software. This is an ideal role for an organized individual looking to advance their career in manufacturing estimation.

Key responsibilities include:

Create cost estimates and quotes for machined and fabricated components in JobBOSS ERP software.

Interface with customers to gather project specifications and respond to inquiries while building excellent working relationships

Review blueprints and CAD models Autodesk Fusion) to estimate material, machining, and welding costs

Input quotes into JobBOSS, leveraging historical job data to ensure accurate baseline pricing

Consult with senior estimators, machine shop, welding, and purchasing teams on projects to verify process feasibility

Create work orders upon job award and update quotes as project scope changes

Qualifications:

1-3 years of estimation experience

Hands-on background in machining (NOC 72100), welding (NOC 72106), or drafting/design is a strong asset

Proficient in reading engineering drawings,



including GD&T; and experience with 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Fusion)

Strong computer literacy with ERP software experience (ECI JobBOSS preferred)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective customer and team interaction

High attention to detail, strong accuracy, and organizational skills

Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
