Nelson CARES Society is a community-based, non-profit organization committed to social justice, dignity, respect for
diversity, equity, and safety. Through its various programs and services, Nelson CARES works collaboratively with
individuals, families, and community partners to build inclusive, healthy, and supportive communities.
The Community-Based Victim Services (CBVS) Support Worker provides emotional support, information, referrals,
advocacy, and assistance with navigating the justice system for adults who have experienced intimate partner violence,
sexual assault, criminal harassment, or childhood physical and/or sexual abuse, as well as children and youth who have
experienced physical and/or sexual abuse or witnessed violence in relationships. The position also provides intake,
information, and referral services for individuals accessing the Family Law Advocacy Program, connecting clients with
appropriate community resources and supports to help address their legal, emotional, and practical needs.
