Tke’mlúps te Secwépemc seeks an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator III for full time work within Public Works. Operate various equipment like dump trucks and excavators for community projects.

This position necessitates the operation and maintenance of both light and heavy equipment within the Planning and Engineering department. Ideal candidates will have 3-4 years of relevant maintenance and equipment operation experience, as well as basic mechanical knowledge. The role involves performing pre-trip inspections, safely operating machinery, and engaging in community work that benefits TteS members.

Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain dump trucks and excavators
• Perform pre-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment




• Report tools and equipment repairs as necessary
• Drive straight trucks and tractor trailers for material transport
• Complete landscaping tasks and snow removal as needed

Requirements:
• Grade 10 education or equivalent needed
• Valid Class 1 driver’s license with air endorsement
• 2-3 years driving experience with straight trucks
• WHIMIS certificate required
• Strong work ethic and mechanical skills necessary
