Job Summary Our team of system developers in the IT Portfolio Management Office is currently looking for an enthusiastic, collaborative and highly motivated student to help us build, automate and streamline processes that will support core project management and governance functions at the IT division at HOOPP. Working on a highly dynamic and agile team, you will contribute directly to the development and growth of our program and gain cross‑functional skills experience. Developers at HOOPP are supported in their learning and growth throughout their careers and self‑motivated, ambitious candidates will come into an empowering work environment that fosters personal development and provides co‑ops with the skills and tools that they need to succeed.
What you will do Plan, code, test and deploy incremental changes every week as a part of our agile development team
Collaborate directly with business partners on their roadblocks and goals, from whiteboard to deployment
Craft and deliver automated processes, AI services, web components and core reports and dashboards
Proactively identify issues, bugs, and areas for improvement - and follow up with action items
Innovate new solutions that make a difference to the teams we support – this role will have plenty of scope to connect with our partners on the challenges they face day to day, and our co‑ops are encouraged to think creatively and use the tools we have available to create innovative new solutions and show off their ingenuity
What you will bring Currently enrolled in a college or university program in computer science, software engineering or similar program
Knowledge of cloud‑based environments, specifically Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Knowledge of object‑oriented programming methodologies and JavaScript
Knowledge of Power BI or a similar reporting tool
Experience consuming and working with data through APIs
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well in a dynamic and fast‑moving team environment
High enthusiasm, self‑starter and urgency to get things done
Experience working in Azure AI Foundry or AWS Bedrock experience considered a strong asset
Experience working in the development of AI services using LLMs considered a strong asset
Experience working with agentic development platforms like codex or VS Code with github copilot considered a strong asset
Personal interest in data analytics and reporting, recent certifications in Power BI, SQL/NoSQL analytics, or data analytics especially on the Azure cloud platform are considered strong assets
Knowledge of component‑based web design (Angular, AngularJS, React or similar) is considered an asset

The expected hourly rate range for this role is $21.00 to $31.00.
