WAGE RANGE: $ 69.960 TO $ 79.910 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE The Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with the Niagara Health Hospitalist program. This role is responsible for ongoing assessment and management and planning for clients deemed appropriate/referred by Hospitalists initially at the Marotta Family Hospital on the in-patient units, rotating to other Niagara Health sites as required. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for ongoing assessment, planning, management and treatment of patients within the complex care unit in collaboration with the Physicians. The Nurse Practitioner will report directly to the Site/Program Director. The Nurse Practitioner will provide leadership and promote excellence in patient-centered care through expert practice, education, consultation and research. The successful candidate will provide care with an emphasis on wellness, prevention and disease management through direct patient care, health promotion and education, outreach, advocacy and community development as required. This role will entail working with acute and post acute patient populations.
QUALIFICATIONS Certification with the Ontario College of Nurses - Extended Class License
Completion of Nurse Practitioner Program and a Masters of Science in Nursing from a recognized University
Recent geriatric, primary care or acute care (RN or RN-EC)

Demonstrated skill in program development using a collaborative, external partner engaged process
Demonstrated clinical leadership skills to organize and co-ordinate the care of patients in collaboration with the Hospitalist Team
Proven success in providing inspirational leadership in a team environment and ability to encourage innovation and creativity amongst team members required
Ability to be self-directed in clinical practice as required in the areas of assessment, diagnosis and therapeutics
Evidence of effective organizational, interpersonal, communication, leadership, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills
Ability to promote professional education and advance knowledge through research and the evaluation/quality improvement activities related to the care of patients throughout the continuum
Demonstrated commitment to patient/client centred care
Solid analytical and conceptual skills required
Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service
Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe practice as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario
Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving




Must be willing to work flexible hours to reflect patient population needs
