This is aremote-based positionthat requiresextensive travel (50% or more)within the region.If you are anexperienced leaderwith a strongbackground in OSBandEWP products, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact.Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:Degree or diplomainWood Science, Forestry, Engineering, or a relatedtechnical field.5–7 years experienceas aTechnical Managerwithin thewood products or manufacturing industry.Working experience withdifferent mills or multiple mills .Strongknowledge of OSBandengineered wood manufacturing processesand quality standards.Provenleadership experiencewith the ability to manage and develop teams.Excellentanalytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Solid project management skills and statistical skills.Familiarity withquality management systems (e.G., ISO 9001)and continuousimprovement methodologies (e.G., Lean, Six Sigma).In this role you will:Mentor mill Technical Managers and technical teams.Promote a culture ofcontinuous improvementthat fosterscollaboration and standardization between mills.Oversee andlead recipe and process optimization trialsacross mills.Monitor andensure adherence to quality standards,analyzingperformance against budgetandimplementing corrective actionplans for divisions with negative product performance and/or financial variance.Collaborate with internal teamsandmaintain strong external relationshipswith 3rd party certification agencies and vendors.Support thedeployment, ongoing execution, and continuous improvement of the Tolko Quality Management System (TQM 9000)across mills.Investigate customer claims & complaintsand ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.Collaborate with cross-functional teams tosolve quality and process challengesand contribute to thedevelopment of new products and procedures.We value diversity at Tolko and know experience and knowledge come in many forms so even if you don't have all the qualifications above, please apply.
