Elevate oral health in children as a Public Health Dental Hygienist at Nova Scotia Health. Collaborate with schools and communities to deliver impactful health initiatives and fluoride programs.
In this permanent part time role, you will work within the Healthy Communities Team to enhance oral health outcomes for elementary-aged children. Your expertise in dental hygiene will drive program development and policy advocacy, supporting healthy community initiatives. Engage with local stakeholders, conduct assessments, and lead oral health initiatives across the Northern Zone of Amherst Public Health Office.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with community partners on oral health projects
• Lead the fluoride varnish program for children
• Develop and implement oral health initiatives
• Conduct assessments on community oral health
• Advocate for policy changes to improve health outcomes
Requirements:
• Diploma in Dental Hygiene; Bachelor's preferred
• Licensed and in good standing with regulatory body
• Experience in program planning and evaluation
• Proficiency in public health core competencies
• First Aid/CPR certification required
