Join the University of Toronto as a Legal Counsel specializing in administrative law. Leverage your litigation experience to drive compliance and governance in a reputable academic institution.

We are looking for two qualified candidates for a full time position in the Office of University Counsel. Applicants must hold an LL.B or J.D. and be registered with the Law Society of Ontario. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of four years in legal practice, particularly in administrative law and litigation management contexts.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic legal advice on administrative matters
• Draft and review legal documents and policies
• Analyze evidence and procedural fairness in litigation




• Engage with stakeholders to ensure compliance
• Support university governance in regulatory frameworks

Requirements:
• Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws degree
• At least 4 years’ legal experience, preferably in education
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Capacity to work collaboratively in diverse settings
