Become a vital part of cancer research as a Laboratory Assistant I with Alberta's Tomorrow Project. This position focuses on critical laboratory functions, including biosample collection and processing during weekday shifts.

Operating from the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre, this casual role reports to the Research Operations Lead. As a part of the research team, you will handle essential laboratory duties like receiving samples, performing initial tests, and ensuring equipment cleanliness, all aimed at advancing cancer prevention knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collect and manage biosamples with precision
• Sort and receive specimens while adhering to protocols
• Clean lab equipment and assist in patient queries




• Perform basic laboratory tests as required
• Document and input data accurately

Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program certification
• Previous experience in phlebotomy is needed
• Familiarity with dry ice handling and TDG certification
• Satisfactory criminal record check is mandatory
