The unit writes Construction risks for all occupancies across Canada and internationally for our global clients.How you will create an impactProduction and underwriting of profitable new and renewal Construction businessRisk selection and analysis using logical methodical underwriting tools and methods to support decisionsEnsuring all accounts are underwritten and structured with full regard to risk and profitabilityEnsuring all files are well documented and comply with departmental requirementsDevelop and maintain excellent working relationships with our broker partners; marketing presentations/relationship management to help develop business flowRespond to mid-term servicing requirements and account specific mid-term requirementsWork collaboratively with colleagues for a One AIG multi-line approach,
maximizing each opportunityIdentify cross selling opportunitiesGrow targeted business and maintain profitabilityProvide technical underwriting and marketing leadership to other members of the teamWhat you'll need to succeedIn-depth experience in Construction underwriting of both CAR and EAR occupanciesStrong policy wording knowledgeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWillingness for continuous improvementUniversity degree or college diplomaExcellent customer service and negotiation skillsAbility to operate independently and collaborativelyExcellent organizational and time management skillsBackground in Construction Loss control and/or Engineering is welcomedStrong decision making skillsA desire to stay up to date with industry, legal & regulatory trendsThe base salary range for this position is CAD $133,000-$180,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
