Taber Christian School is an Early Learning to Grade 8 alternative school program within The Horizon School Division. Our 33 staff members provide service to approximately 370 students in the town of Taber, Alberta.
Horizon School Division is a 21st century inclusive learning community that engages and empowers all learners for success.
Regular Educational Assistant: approximately 31 hrs/wk
Hours of work include - Monday -Friday 8:30 a.m.- 3:15 p.m.
Assignment includes 1:1 support in the areas of life skills, education, and daily tasks.
Working with a student 1:1 (one-on-one) with other support staff to support daily life skills, although currently listed at approximately 31 hrs/week, these hours may increase based on the students' daily program

An EducationalAssistantin Horizon School Division:
Encourages studentsto develop and maintainpositiveinteraction.
Maintains confidentialityand a patient, supportive and enthusiasticcommitmentto students.
As required,
provides personal care including toileting, diapering, feeding, dressing, grooming, etc. ensuringthat studentdignity is maintained. Attends to physical needs including lifting, positioning, and range of motion programs as identified by appropriate personnel.
Ensures the safety of students in the school and community, which includes maintaining close supervision of students, ensuring studentequipment is sanitized and put away, retrieving students who attemptto leave their learningenvironment, calming and/or restraining students engaged in challenging behaviours; supervising and assisting studentswho utilize a variety of life skill tools (i.e., scissors, cooking utensils, etc.).
Maintains collegial relationships with the students' learning team.
