Senior Structural Designer, MiningSt. John's, NewfoundlandJob DescriptionSenior Structural Designer will be part of an engineering team providing engineering services to our Mining Clients. You will participate in a wide range of projects covering structural steel and concrete foundations, including 3D modeling and 2D drawings for both FEL studies and detailed engineering phases.ResponsibilitiesProducing aspects of structural design and drawings in MicroStation and AutoCADAssist the Director of Engineering, Structural Engineers and EITs with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and scheduleUndertake the detailed working drawings of steel, concrete and site plansPrepare conceptual layout drawings and develop construction detailsParticipate in discipline drawing review process and multi-disciplinary drawing reviewsAssist in the preparation of technical specs, reports and sketchesSupervise and mentor junior designers and EITs in the preparation of drawingsPerform Project Management and Construction Supervision tasks as requiredSite visits to get measurements and related information as requiredEnsure all assigned projects are carried out and delivered on budget and scheduleParticipate and assist in proposal preparationsWork to ensure the implementation of safety and integrity principles in structural documentationBecome familiar with EXP standardsQualificationsMinimum 10+ years Structural Design experience in mining or industrial projectsOrganized, self‐motivated, pro‐active, detail‐oriented and have positive communication skillsExtensive Structural Steel and Reinforced Concrete 3D and 2D structural modeling and drawing software experienceAutoCAD, MicroStation experience requiredCivil 3D and Revit experience an assetProficient with Microsoft Office productsBIM 360, Bluebeam and Navisworks experience preferredGood knowledge of mining industry standards, codes and guidelinesKnowledge of mining‐related processes a definite assetExperience on large multi‐disciplinary EPCM projects preferredAbility to function with minimal supervisionExperience in the use of procedures and workflows in the execution of projectsAbility to delegate tasks and effectively supervise othersMust be a team player and can work collaboratively with othersExcellent problem‐solving skills and critical‐thinkingSalarySalary range: $90K - $120K.EEO StatementEXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
