About Your New Role

Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance & Support Operations, the Superintendent, Maintenance Operations role emphasizes electrical and instrumentation systems while maintaining oversight of fixed plant mechanical activities during cross‑shift coverage. This role will be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of all electrical services for the Surface and Underground Operations. The Superintendent will oversee all electrical and instrumentation activities within the mining operation, including planning, coordinating, and supervising installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, instrumentation, and automation equipment to ensure protected, reliable, and efficient operation of mining assets.

Your Key Responsibilities

- Provide cross‑shift coverage for mechanical maintenance planning and execution
- Manage and lead E&I; teams, including electricians, instrument technicians, and contractors
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical and instrumentation systems
- Oversee the day‑to‑day operations for the electrical & fixed plant departments
- Make recommendations to improve efficiency and work methods
- Actively participate in employee training
- Establish time and cost estimates for the electrical department
- Responsible for all winter road electrical requirements
- Provide technical guidance and assistance concerning work methods and use of equipment for employees
- Maintain computerized information systems while continuously seeking ways to develop these systems
- Forecast and budget for the maintenance department with specific responsibility for the electrical budget
- Maintain inventory criticality and continuously seek areas for improvement
- Drive root cause analysis for failures and implement corrective actions
- Maintain electrical department records and ensure they remain current
- Ensure adherence to electrical codes, instrumentation standards, and mine safety regulations
- Ensure electrical systems are continuously up‑to‑date and adhere to the highest safety standards
- Work with contractors regularly to ensure all electrical equipment is up to code
- Complete line drawings and update schematics as needed
- Generate reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance KPIs
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, automation and reliability improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department

Your Education And Experience

The successful candidate will have:

- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field. Journeyperson certificate in Electrical will be considered.
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
- Preferably experience in the mining industry
- An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered

About Our Working Conditions

This position has a schedule of 4 days on, 3 days off at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in/out with pick‑up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
