Lead safety initiatives in the Town of Fort Smith as the Coordinator for Protective Services. Elevate community safety through emergency planning, volunteer training, and operational leadership.
As a vital member of the Protective Services team, you will report to the Director and fulfill the Deputy Chief role. This position balances field operations with administrative oversight, focusing on Emergency Management and Occupational Health & Safety programs. Leverage your expertise to support community preparedness and compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as Deputy Chief in Fire and EMS services
• Coordinate volunteer training and compliance management
• Develop and implement Emergency Management Programs




• Supervise Protective Services department activities
• Deliver Emergency Management training to staff and partners
Requirements:
• Diploma in Fire and Emergency Services or related field
• 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent
• NFPA 1001 Firefighter Levels I & II certification
• Class 3 or Class 4 Driver's Licence with airbrake endorsement
• Robust communication and leadership skills
