This full-time position involves delivering technical support and managing fire-related data. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a B.Sc. in environmental or natural sciences and be skilled in GIS database maintenance and fire behavior monitoring. Responsibilities also include developing fuel management plans and fulfilling fire duty officer roles in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain databases for fire weather and behavior
• Assist with GIS database management and mapping
• Develop fuel management plans and assessments
• Fulfill field unit fire duty officer roles as needed
• Conduct data manipulation and analysis tasks
Requirements:
• B.Sc. or higher in environmental/natural sciences
• Completion of CIFFC Advanced Wildland Fire Behaviour course
• Experience in field research and climatic conditions
• Valid class 5 driving license
• Knowledge in fire suppression and management projects
