Chief Executive Officer
**Position Summary**
Resilient Hearts is seeking an experienced and inclusive Self-Defence Instructor to deliver practical self-defense training for young adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities through our Safe

Force (https://www.resilienthearts.ca/safeforce)
program.

The successful instructor will be responsible for teaching practical, accessible, and easy-to-learn self-defense techniques that participants can apply in real-world situations.

The instructor must be able to adapt instruction to different learning styles and abilities while creating a secure, respectful, encouraging,



and non-intimidating environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
Deliver practical self-defense instruction and demonstrations.

Teach simple techniques for personal safety, boundaries, and escaping common holds or grabs.

Adapt instruction to different learning styles and abilities.

Create a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment.

Prioritize participant safety during all physical activities.

Work collaboratively with Resilient Hearts staff.
**Skills and Qualifications**
Experience teaching self-defence, martial arts, personal safety, or a related discipline.

Relevant certification or professional training.

Strong communication and instructional skills.

Experience working with people with developmental or intellectual disabilities is an asset.

Patient, respectful, and inclusive approach.

Vulnerable Sector Check and Intervention Record Check, or ability to obtain.

First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
