Position: Service Now Enterprise Architect

About the Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Service Now Enterprise Architect to lead the design, governance, and implementation of a Service Now CMDB and Security Operations transformation initiative. This role will provide technical leadership, establish platform standards, ensure alignment with Service Now best practices, and guide the organization through the implementation of CMDB and Security Operations capabilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions while preserving platform integrity, upgradability, and alignment with Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) Service Now capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

CMDB Foundation (Primary Focus)

- Assess current-state infrastructure, asset repositories, and data sources.
- Define and implement CMDB architecture, data models, and governance frameworks.
- Design Configuration Item (CI) class hierarchies and Common Service Data Model (CSDM) alignment.
- Establish Identification and Reconciliation Rules (IRE/IRR) and data certification processes.
- Architect Service Now Discovery solutions, including MID Server strategy and credential management.
- Design CMDB health dashboards to measure completeness, correctness, compliance, and data quality.
- Lead business service mapping initiatives and establish relationships between services and underlying infrastructure.
- Oversee the setup of demonstration and testing environments for proof-of-concept activities.

Security Operations Enablement

- Validate CMDB maturity and readiness for Security Operations implementation.




- Lead architectural design and implementation of Service Now Security Operations modules, including Vulnerability Response and Incident Response.
- Design integrations with third-party security tools such as vulnerability scanners and SIEM platforms.
- Define automated workflows, routing rules, assignment groups, and SLA frameworks for security incidents.
- Ensure integration and data models align with enterprise cybersecurity objectives.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 8+ years of Service Now enterprise architecture experience.
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
- Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
- Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – CMDB certification.
- CIS – Security Operations (Sec Ops) or CIS – Vulnerability Response certification.
- Advanced knowledge of:
- Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
- Service Now Discovery
- CMDB architecture and governance
- Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE)
- Service Mapping
- Platform integrations and API architecture
- Experience developing enterprise-level governance frameworks and technical standards.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience leading CMDB transformation programs.
- Robust understanding of enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity operations.
- Experience integrating security monitoring, vulnerability management, and SIEM solutions into Service Now.
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
