Outreach Coordinator (Full-Time)

Location: Lifecentre.Care - Food Bank

Position Type: Full time (40 hours/week)

Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday with flexibility required. Possible evening work (approximately 2 - 4 evenings per month) and occasional weekends for community events and outreach initiatives.

Employment: Fixed term, 1 year (with possibility of renewal)

Position Summary

The Community Outreach Manager is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Lifecentre.Care’s community outreach programs, volunteer engagement, and client services.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this position provides operational leadership by overseeing volunteers, coordinating community programs, building strategic partnerships, managing outreach initiatives, and ensuring the effective delivery of services that reflect the mission and values of Lifecentre.Care.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic thinking with practical service. The successful candidate will inspire volunteers, build meaningful community relationships, improve operational excellence, and help shape the future growth of Lifecentre.Care.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

- Lead the daily operations of Lifecentre.Care’s outreach and food bank services.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to volunteers and outreach teams.
- Develop and implement operational procedures that improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Ensure programs operate safely, effectively, and with excellence.
- Monitor key performance indicators and prepare reports for the CEO.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and organizational growth.
- Support strategic planning and organizational initiatives.

Community Outreach & Partnerships

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, schools, businesses, churches, and government agencies.




- Represent Lifecentre.Care at community meetings, networking events, and outreach opportunities.
- Identify new partnership opportunities that strengthen community impact.
- Promote collaboration that expands access to programs and services.
- Serve as a positive ambassador for Lifecentre.Care within the community.

Volunteer Leadership

- Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, supervise, and support volunteers.
- Develop volunteer leaders capable of leading teams independently.
- Foster a positive, welcoming, and high-performing volunteer culture.
- Ensure volunteers receive appropriate training, recognition, and ongoing support.
- Promote a culture of respect, teamwork, safety, and accountability.

Community Programs

Provide leadership for community initiatives including, but not limited to:

- Community BBQs
- Kids Breakfast Club
- Backpack and School Supply Programs
- Holiday Food Programs
- Food Drives
- Community Events
- Seasonal Outreach Initiatives
- New programs that further the mission of Lifecentre.Care

Client Services

- Ensure every individual accessing services is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
- Support client intake and referral processes.
- Advocate for individuals experiencing food insecurity when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records while protecting client confidentiality.
- Ensure services remain welcoming, accessible, and responsive to community needs.

Food Bank Operations

- Oversee food receiving, inventory management, and distribution activities.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and organizational procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming facility.
- Coordinate donations and inventory with community partners.
- Support warehouse operations as required.

Administration & Communications

- Oversee administrative processes, reporting, scheduling, and documentation.
- Prepare monthly operational and statistical reports.
- Assist with grant reporting and program evaluation.
- Coordinate public communications and social media initiatives.
- Promote volunteer opportunities, community events, and organizational impact.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

- Demonstrated leadership experience in a nonprofit, community, volunteer, or customer service setting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication,



and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Experience coordinating volunteers, events, or community programs.
- Strong administrative and computer skills, including Microsoft Office and cloud-based applications.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
- High standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- A passion for serving individuals and strengthening communities.

Preferred Qualifications

The following would be considered strong assets:

- Experience working in a food bank or social service organization.
- Experience supervising volunteers or staff.
- Knowledge of food insecurity and community support systems.
- Grant reporting or program evaluation experience.
- First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience driving cargo vans or light trucks.
- Bilingualism (English and French) or additional languages.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to:

- Lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Assist with loading and unloading food donations.
- Work in both office and warehouse environments.
- Participate in event setup and teardown.
