Introduction

We are seeking a professional with deep technical experience in enterprise mainframe automation environments to support a migration initiative focused on transitioning from AF Operator to IBM z System Automation (IzSA). This is a part-time remote consulting opportunity designed for an experienced specialist who can provide targeted expertise and guidance without requiring a full-time commitment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Strong hands-on experience with IBM z System Automation (IzSA).
- Previous experience with AF Operator and migration/conversion activities.
- Strong understanding of IBM Z / mainframe automation concepts.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale mainframe environments.
- Knowledge of automation policies, resources, dependencies, and operational workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote consulting capacity.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry.
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications





- Prior experience leading or supporting AF Operator to IzSA migrations.
- Experience with IBM Z operations, automation frameworks, and production support.
- Experience providing technical mentorship and knowledge transfer.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Provide SME-level guidance for the migration from AF Operator to IBM z System Automation (IzSA).
- Assess existing AF Operator automation configurations, workflows, and operational processes.
- Support migration planning, design decisions, and implementation activities.
- Assist with configuring, testing, and validating IBM z System Automation environments.
- Analyze automation dependencies and recommend migration approaches.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during migration activities.
- Provide best practices around IBM z System Automation implementation and operations.
- Collaborate with technical teams, architects, and stakeholders throughout the migration.
- Develop documentation and support knowledge transfer activities.
- Provide guidance to junior resources supporting the migration effort.
