We have an immediate need for Precision Machinists to join the team in the Prototype Toolroom. We are a fast-paced, innovation-driven prototype toolroom specializing in precision components, custom tooling, and low‑volume short‑run production. Our team works closely with engineering and product development to bring new ideas to life quickly and accurately. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, problem‑solving, and tight‑tolerance work. You will be responsible for building, modifying, and repairing precision tooling, fixtures, and prototype components.What You Will Do:Manufacture precision parts, tooling, jigs, and fixtures from drawings, CAD models, or verbal instructionsSet up and operate manual and CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM as applicable)Interpret blueprints, sketches, and 3D models with a high degree of accuracyPerform tight‑tolerance machining (±0.0005" or better where required)Assemble, troubleshoot, and refine prototype tooling and mechanical componentsCollaborate with engineers and designers to optimize manufacturabilityMaintain equipment and ensure a clean, safe work environmentInspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, CMM, etc.)Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety and providing a safe working environment for all employeesContribute to fostering a positive workplace culture and collaborative team environmentQualifications You Must Have:Journey person Tool & Die Maker or General Machinist Red Seal certification or equivalent machining experience5+ years of experience in a prototype or machine shop environment preferredStrong proficiency with manual machining; CNC experience isan assetAbility to work independently from limited instructionsSolid understanding of GD&T; and precision measurement techniquesExperience with CAD/CAM software is an assetStrong problem‑solving skills and attention to detailQualifications We Prefer:Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with the ability to work under pressureGood communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a teamExperience with surface grinding, wire EDM, or sinker EDMFamiliarity with materials such as tool steels, aluminium, stainless steel, and plasticsAbility to suggest design improvements for manufacturabilityComfortable working in a fast‑paced, low‑volume, high‑mix environmentKnowledge of workplace safety regulations and a commitment to fostering a safe working environmentWhat We Offer:Competitive wages based on experienceSigning BonusOvertime opportunitiesComprehensive advantages packageSupportive, team‑oriented work environmentOpportunity to work on diverse and challenging prototype projectsRelocation EligibilityThe starting rate for this position is $27.50/hour.
