of expertiseBuild client rapport as projects progress from feasibility through to mine closureCoordinate with other engineering disciplines to develop well rounded solutions for clientsPrepare technical reports, proposals, and other project specific documentationWhat We Are Looking ForSenior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Vancouver-based engineering team to work on local and international mining and resource projects. Your experience will be applied to the planning, investigation, assessment, design and construction of tailings and water dams and waste storage for mining clients. Career development can be managed to support personal preferences such as niche, technical design specialists, or project participation in both technical dam engineering scopes and project management, or all-round dam engineering specialists, such as the responsible persons or Engineers of Record.What We RequireA degree in civil or geotechnical engineering: a master's degree is considered an asset10+ years' experience in civil or geotechnical related projects (preferably for mining or related industries), with a track record of continued developmentYou must be eligible to register as professional engineer in CanadaExperience in geohazard engineering, assessments, investigations, design, tendering and construction administrationWorking knowledge of geotechnical software packages including PLAXIS, FLAC,
and SLOPE/WGeneral understanding of mining-related regulations and industry best practicesPassion for collaborating with clients and fostering long-term relationshipsDemonstrated ability to work in a agile and fast-paced environmentEnhanced communication skills, which should include experience in writing proposals, technical reports, and general project correspondenceExperience in a safety focused environment with near miss and incident reporting requirementsYou Will Excel In Our Team If You HaveAn ability to find creative solutions and know how to present them.A willingness to mentor others and be mentored.An ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and industry partners.Demonstrate that you are flexible and seek solutions rather than focus on problems.A willingness to travel and undertake fieldwork.A proven ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.The salary for this position is $110,000 to $160,000 per year.
