Department: Central Intake Ontario - North East Mental Health & Addiction HubInitial competition is now closed.We are continuing to accept applications until a candidate is selected.As a fundamental member of the North East Mental Health and Addiction Central Intake program, based in Sudbury at the NBRHC Kirkwood site, the Full Time Clinical Intake Specialist will work collaboratively with the Coordinated Access team to support referral submission and help navigate clients to the most appropriate mental health and addiction services.QUALIFICATIONSCertification/Experience/KnowledgeBachelor’s University Degree in a human health science field/equivalent required; additional training and/or certification in Mental Health and Addictions an assetRegistered Health Care Professional with current membership in good standing with a regulated governing body (e.G. Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Etc.) requiredMinimum of three (3) years of recent relevant clinical experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and substance use health related concerns requiredCertificate and applied skills in the Recovery Philosophy requiredSkills/AbilitiesDemonstrated clinical competence, leadership and applied inter-collaborative skills to promote, facilitate and integrate best practice principles in holistic mental health and addictions requiredDemonstrated cultural awareness & safety in working with diverse populations and care partners requiredDemonstrated excellence in clinical-reasoning, critical thinking skills, assessment, documentation, intervention and care planning skills requiredDemonstrated quality professionalism in oral, written & interpersonal communication skills among regional care partners to convey essential clinical and systems information requiredCommitment to health promotion & prevention,
quality improvement and change initiatives to actively contribute to critical program evaluation and relevant research projects required; Lean Training/Certifications an assetAbility to function collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and skilfully prioritize competing workload responsibilities in a self-direct manner requiredExpert knowledge of Community Support Services, Primary Health Care and Mental Health System Resources & Partners and Consent & Capacity legislation (e.G. Public Guardian Trustee, Substitute Decision Maker Act, Health Care Consent Act, Mental Health Act, Long-Term Care Act, PHIPA) requiredProgressive computer literacy skills, including adept electronic documentation skills and ability to navigate various electronic platforms (e.G. OTN) and software (e.G. Zoom etc.) requiredMust support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse events in this organization requiredGood attendance and work record requiredBilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required.
