Join our team as an Infrastructure Specialist in Platform Engineering Services, where you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing database environments for a leading client in the financial markets industry. This remote position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Strong hands-on experience in PostgreSQL installation, administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Experience installing, configuring, administering, upgrading, monitoring, and supporting CockroachDB clusters.
- Expertise in performance analysis, query optimization, indexing, database tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting production issues.
- Experience designing and implementing highly available, cross-region database architectures with high-performance storage solutions.
- Hands-on experience with RAFT replication, cross-site data replication, backup/restore strategies, disaster recovery planning, failover testing, and data consistency validation.
- Experience implementing database security, access control, encryption, creating architecture documentation, operational runbooks, and mentoring technical teams.
- Prior work experience at client or in client's industry is preferred.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

- Experience supporting enterprise PostgreSQL environments in regulated industries.




- Experience working in client-facing consulting engagements with production support responsibilities.
- Knowledge of financial services or capital markets environments.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Install, configure, administer, and support CockroachDB and PostgreSQL database environments.
- Design and implement highly available, cross-region distributed database architectures.
- Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and failover strategies.
- Configure and manage RAFT-based replication and distributed database clusters.
- Perform database health checks, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for production issues.
- Ensure database security through access controls, encryption, and compliance with organizational policies.
- Create architecture documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineering and operations teams.
- Work directly with clients, providing consulting, implementation, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Validate data consistency and perform disaster recovery and failover testing.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to deliver reliable database solutions.
