Job Title: Purview Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled skilled responsible for implementing, configuring, and managing enterprise-wide data governance, data discovery, classification, compliance, and risk management across Client 365, Azure, and hybrid data sources.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Experience with Client Purview (Data Governance Compliance)
- Proficiency in Client 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams)
- Knowledge of Sensitivity Labels and DLP
- Experience with Azure Data Services (ADLS, SQL, Synapse)
- Proficient in PowerShell scripting
- Understanding of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Familiarity with data classification frameworks and regulatory standards (GDPR, HIPAA, PCIDSS, ISO 27001)
- Expertise in Records Management and Retention policies

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

- Client Certifications such as SC400 (Information Protection Compliance), SC300, SC100 (Identity Security Architect)
- Experience with Purview Unified Catalog
- Knowledge of Defender XDR, Sentinel SIEM
- Experience in large, regulated enterprises

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

- Implement and manage Client Purview Data Catalog for structured and unstructured data




- Configure scans for Azure, on-prem, and SaaS data sources
- Build and maintain business glossary, metadata management, and lineage
- Enable data discovery and self-service analytics across the organization
- Configure and manage Sensitivity Labels (MIP) and implement Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies across M365 workloads
- Support Insider Risk Management, eDiscovery, and Audit
- Assist with regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO, SOX, etc.)
- Monitor compliance posture using Purview Compliance Portal
- Collaborate with Security and Legal teams on investigations and holds
- Integrate Purview with Azure AD, Defender, Sentinel, Power Platform
- Automate scans, labeling, and reports using PowerShell and Graph API
- Support hybrid environments and third-party integrations
- Monitor scan health, classification accuracy, and policy enforcement
- Generate compliance and governance reports for stakeholders
- Document governance processes, standards, and best practices
- Provide L2/L3 support and mentorship
