SpeechEase is seeking a passionate and skilled Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our growing Pediatric Feeding Therapy Program as an Independent Contractor.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about pediatric nutrition, feeding difficulties, and helping children and teens develop a positive and successful relationship with food. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team while providing evidence-informed assessment, therapy, consultation, and family education.

Position Highlights

- Position: Registered Dietitian – Pediatric Feeding Therapy
- Employment type: Independent Contractor
- Compensation: $90–$100 per hour
- Schedule: Part-time, flexible and based on client demand
- Service delivery: Primarily virtual/telehealth, with in-person opportunities depending on client and clinic needs
- Locations: Coquitlam, Burnaby, North Vancouver, Richmond, and Port Alberni, BC
- Start date: As soon as possible
- Weekend availability: Optional, but at least one weekend day is preferred

About the Role

As a Registered Dietitian with SpeechEase, you will provide specialized nutrition and feeding support to primarily pediatric and adolescent clients (ages 0–18) experiencing a range of feeding and nutrition concerns.

Many clients will be referred through our SOS Feeding Therapy Program, making experience with the SOS Approach to Feeding a strong asset. However, we welcome Registered Dietitians with other relevant pediatric feeding therapy experience and a willingness to learn.

You may support children and teens experiencing:

- Picky eating and limited food variety
- Food refusal and food aversion
- Sensory-based feeding challenges
- Difficulties with eating and mealtime
- Nutritional concerns related to restricted diets
- ARFID and other feeding-related concerns
- Growth and nutritional concerns
- Oral-motor and feeding challenges
- Other pediatric nutrition and feeding difficulties

Key Responsibilities

- Complete comprehensive pediatric nutrition and feeding assessments
- Provide individualized dietetic and feeding therapy
- Deliver direct therapy through individual and, where appropriate, group sessions
- Develop individualized nutrition and feeding recommendations and treatment plans




- Provide parent/caregiver education and coaching
- Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team
- Consult with parents, schools, school-based teams, physicians, and other professionals as appropriate
- Support clients participating in SpeechEase's SOS Feeding Therapy Program
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Provide evidence-informed recommendations that support the nutritional, developmental, and functional needs of each client
- Participate in ongoing communication and collaboration with the SpeechEase clinical team

Qualifications

Required:

- Registered Dietitian (RD) eligible to practice in British Columbia
- Registration in good standing with the appropriate provincial regulatory body
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Experience working with children and/or adolescents
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team
- Ability to provide services independently in a contractor environment
- Successful completion of a Criminal Records Review Check, if required

Preferred / Assets:

- Experience providing pediatric feeding therapy
- Experience with the SOS Approach to Feeding / SOS Feeding Therapy
- Experience working with children ages 0–18 with feeding difficulties
- Experience with picky eating, food refusal, food aversion, sensory-related feeding challenges, ARFID, or other pediatric feeding concerns
- Experience working collaboratively with Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, schools, families, and other professionals
- Additional training in pediatric nutrition, feeding, or related areas

Schedule & Locations

This is a part-time independent contractor position, with hours varying according to client demand and clinician availability.

Services may be provided virtually or, depending on client needs and clinic operations, in person at one of our SpeechEase locations:

- Coquitlam
- Burnaby
- North Vancouver
- Richmond
- Port Alberni

Scheduling is flexible. Weekend availability is not required but at least one weekend day is strongly preferred to accommodate client demand.

Days of work, hours, service location, and work areas may change based on operational and client needs.

Compensation

$90–$100 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

This position is offered exclusively as an independent contractor opportunity.
