Automotive Wiring & Assembly Technician

Pay: $21.00–$26.00 per hour
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Work location: In person — Markham, Ontario

About the Position

Racetronix is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined individual to join our production team. This position focuses primarily on the assembly, testing and repair of automotive wiring harnesses and related electrical products. The successful candidate may also assist with fuel pump modules, fuel-system components and other automotive products.

This is a hands-on manufacturing position requiring strong attention to detail, good manual dexterity and the ability to consistently follow work instructions, drawings and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Assemble, test, diagnose and package automotive wiring harnesses and electrical assemblies
- Measure, cut, strip, terminate and crimp automotive wire and cable
- Install connectors, terminals, seals, protective coverings and related components
- Assemble and test automotive fuel pump modules and related fuel-system products
- Test and package automotive fuel injectors, sensors and plumbing components
- Inspect completed assemblies for workmanship, accuracy and conformance to specifications
- Diagnose and repair defective or non-conforming products
- Complete product modifications and rework as required
- Collect and organize parts and supplies according to work orders and bills of materials
- Set up and maintain workstations for specific products and production requirements
- Program, operate and perform routine maintenance on automated wire-cutting, stripping, testing and crimping equipment
- Accurately complete work orders, inspection records and other production documentation
- Report material shortages, equipment problems and quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor
- Coordinate with supervisors and other team members to maintain production workflow
- Follow established safety, quality and housekeeping procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized and secure work workplace





Required Qualifications

- At least one year of manufacturing, assembly or similarly detailed hands-on work experience
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality work
- Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to safely handle small components and tools
- Ability to distinguish wire and component colours accurately
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, build sheets, technical drawings and electrical schematics
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment
- Basic computer skills, including the use of Windows-based systems and production equipment interfaces
- Strong English reading, writing and verbal communication skills
- Basic arithmetic and measurement skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
- Ability to safely lift and move materials or equipment weighing up to 50 lb

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience assembling automotive wiring harnesses or electrical products
- Experience with wire cutting, stripping, crimping and continuity testing
- Experience operating automated wire-processing or crimping equipment
- Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, fuel systems or aftermarket performance products
- Skilled-trade, electrical, automotive or manufacturing-related education
