Position Summary

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining production levels, and supporting kitchen operations to ensure every guest receives fresh, high-quality food. This role plays an essential part in keeping the kitchen organized, efficient, and ready for service.

Responsibilities

- Prepare meats, vegetables, sauces, side dishes, and other ingredients according to Famous Dave’s recipes and standards.
- Portion, label, and rotate products using FIFO procedures.
- Maintain accurate prep levels based on business demands.
- Assist Line Cooks during busy service periods.
- Receive, inspect, and properly store deliveries.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Keep prep areas, walk-in coolers, storage areas, and equipment clean and organized.
- Minimize food waste by following proper preparation and storage procedures.
- Complete opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties.




- Work closely with the kitchen team to maintain efficient operations.

Qualifications

- Previous kitchen or prep experience is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to multitask.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset.
