Laser Operator

An established and growing steel fabrication company is looking for an experienced Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team.

We are seeking someone who is dependable, quality-focused, and takes pride in producing accurate work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has experience operating CNC laser equipment, enjoys solving production challenges, and works well with both production staff and leadership.

What You'll Be Responsible For

- Set up, program, and operate CNC laser cutting equipment safely and efficiently
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, work orders, and production schedules
- Verify material types, thicknesses, and job specifications before production
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet dimensional and quality standards
- Sort, identify, and organize completed parts for downstream production
- Perform routine machine maintenance and daily equipment inspections
- Troubleshoot equipment or production issues to minimize downtime
- Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes when handling material
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work closely with production, fabrication, and shipping departments to ensure customer deadlines are achieved




- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production department

Qualifications

- Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment
- Experience with Trumpf lasers is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality work
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a quick-paced environment
- Comfortable using forklifts and overhead cranes (or willing to become certified)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous experience leading a production crew, mentoring employees, or acting as a shift lead
- Experience coordinating workflow or assisting with production scheduling
- Continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing experience is an asset

Pay: $26.00-$33.00 per hour
