Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients across various medical specialties, including obstetrics, gynecology, abdominal, vascular, and musculoskeletal imaging. NT certification an asset.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, ensuring comfort, and positioning them correctly for optimal imaging results.
- Operate ultrasound equipment safely and efficiently, adjusting settings to obtain clear images necessary for diagnosis.
- Collaborate with physicians to review images, provide preliminary findings, and assist in clinical decision-making.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, patient information, and imaging results in accordance with hospital or clinic protocols.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated,
and sanitized following safety standards.
- Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and medical terminology to continually enhance skills and service quality.
Requirements
- Certification as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer from an accredited program.
- CMRITO registration and BLS required.
- Solid understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical information and communicate findings effectively.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly and provide compassionate support.
- Ability to operate ultrasound equipment proficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases efficiently.
