Bau Projects Inc. is looking for an experienced Site Superintendent who takes ownership, leads with confidence, and takes pride in delivering exceptional work.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in a growing construction company, lead a wide range of interesting projects, and have a real influence on how those projects are planned and delivered. Our work includes commercial, industrial, institutional, and custom residential construction, ranging from smaller projects to developments valued at more than $10 million.

You will be trusted to lead your site, make informed decisions, maintain high standards, and work closely with our project management team, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to deliver successful projects.

For the right candidate, this position offers a clear opportunity to grow into project management, estimating, or a broader leadership role within Bau Projects. Candidates with strong experience in both field supervision and project management may also be considered for a hybrid Superintendent/Project Manager position.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As the primary leader on site, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination, performance, safety, quality, and progress of your projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Planning and directing daily site activities, construction sequencing, workforce requirements, and schedules
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, deliveries, inspections, and material requirements




- Leading site meetings and maintaining clear expectations and accountability across all trades
- Monitoring project schedules, identifying risks, and taking proactive steps to keep work progressing
- Ensuring construction is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and Bau Projects’ quality standards
- Maintaining a safe, organized, and qualified job site
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals for coordination with site conditions
- Identifying conflicts, constructability concerns, and potential delays before they affect the project
- Resolving field issues in collaboration with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and clients
- Completing accurate daily reports, progress photographs, schedules, inspection records, and as-built documentation
- Supporting procurement, purchase orders, subcontracts, change documentation, and other project administration
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, trades, inspectors, and other project stakeholders
- Supporting and mentoring site personnel while promoting a productive, respectful, and solutions-focused work environment

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a Site Superintendent with strong attention to detail and a wide range of construction experience and knowledge of building systems. This person can identify potential issues in advance and solve issues proactively before they become issues on site. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role.

You should have:

- At least five to ten years of commercial construction experience in a site supervisory or comparable leadership role. Applicants without construction experience will not be considered.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects in the field from start to completion
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, sequencing, drawings,



and specifications
- The ability to develop and manage schedules and coordinate multiple trades effectively
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to establish accountability while maintaining positive working relationships
- Good judgment and the confidence to make timely field decisions
- A proactive approach to planning, problem-solving, quality control, and risk management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort using construction technology and digital project documentation
- A valid driver’s licence

Experience with civil work, foundations, structural steel, wood framing, precast construction, building envelopes, and interior construction is considered an asset.

Experience with MS Project, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or comparable software is also an asset. Familiarity with the Last Planner System and construction-related education are beneficial but not required.

Work Location

Projects are primarily located throughout Winnipeg and the surrounding area.
