9 Yards Landscaping is hiring for several positions for the upcoming landscaping season. We are looking for motivated and dependable team members to join our crew, whether you are an experienced crew leader, a skilled hardscaper, or someone looking to get started in landscaping as a labourer.

Our work includes retaining walls, paver patios, sod installation, drainage, and general landscape construction across Halifax and surrounding areas. We’re looking for people who take pride in their work, show up ready to work hard, and want to be part of a crew that builds quality outdoor spaces.

Positions are available for different experience levels, with opportunities for long term work and growth within the company.

Available Roles

Crew Lead

- Lead a small crew on job sites and keep projects organized and on schedule
- Read project plans and ensure work is completed to a high standard
- Communicate with the team and help solve problems on site
- Operate equipment when required

Experienced Hardscaper

- Install retaining walls, paver patios, walkways, and other landscape features
- Operate equipment such as skid steers or excavators when needed
- Assist with layout, base preparation, and finishing work
- Maintain a clean and protected job site

General Labourer

- Assist with site preparation, material moving, and cleanup
- Help with installations such as sod, patios, and walls




- Support the crew with day to day landscaping tasks
- Learn new skills and grow within the trade

General Responsibilities

- Work safely and follow company safety procedures
- Operate tools and equipment properly
- Maintain a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Work as part of a team to complete projects efficiently

Qualifications

- Landscaping or construction experience is an asset
- Hardscaping experience preferred for skilled positions
- Ability to operate skid steers or excavators is an asset
- Physically capable of working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to job sites in the Halifax area
- Valid driver’s license is an asset
