Neecheewam Inc. has a Full time Key Counsellor position available. This position is Saturday to Tuesday shifts are days and evening . Eagle Warriors Healing Lodge which has a two-bed unit for male identified youth aged 12-17. This facility is specific to Indigenous youth who have limited involvement with the justice system but have demonstrated behavior that indicate a need for additional structure and support. Young people at this unit may be assigned to a Probation Officer or an ISSP Worker, in which case Eagle Warriors will work with the youth to meet their individual needs while remaining cognizant of legal requirements of the youth.
Neecheewam is a professionally staffed community-based organization designed to meet the unique and individual needs of Indigenous youth requiring safe care. Treatment and healing from an Indigenous perspective will be realized through The Seven Sacred Teachings, which honour the universal values shared by all First Nations.

Key Responsibilities: Inc. has a permanent full-time key counsellor position available with Eagle Warriors.
This position consist working Days as well as weekend shifts as part of the schedule; the candidate must be available for all shifts. Salary will be as per the Collective Agreement.
Key Qualifications Required:
Ø Two plus experience in the youth care field.
Ø Responsible for day-to-day maintenance and operation of home while on shift, child advocacy, program related documentation, ability to work independently and within a team.
Ø Ability to effectively coordinate, schedule, transport and accompany youth to required appointments and community based services as part of regular shift responsibilities.
Ø Strong skills in connecting with youth to assist them in accomplishing their goals within the program.
Ø Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ø Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ø Ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment
Ø Must have excellent organizational skills
Ø Must be confident in your decision making process
Ø Knowledge and appreciation of aboriginal culture
Ø Child and Youth Care Diploma preferred, relevant education/experience will be considered
Ø Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
Ø Possess valid Child Abuse Registry
Ø Valid First Aid/CPR certification
Ø Valid Driver’s License required
