Join our vibrant team as an After School Program Leader with Swell, where you will ignite a love for learning and foster positive development in children after school hours. This energetic role involves creating engaging art activities, supporting academic growth through mentoring and teaching, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for all kindergarten through Grade 6 participants. As a vital part of our community-focused program, you will inspire curiosity, encourage creativity, and help children build confidence while having fun.
Duties
- Lead dynamic after-school activities that promote imagination, creativity, and social skills
- Provide instructional support in subjects such as art, reading, and music
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with Swell's standards
- Foster a secure, welcoming environment by supervising children and managing behaviors and needs effectively
- Collaborate with parents and staff to monitor student progress and address individual needs
- Organize extracurricular events, games, and projects that enhance engagement and teamwork
- Maintain accurate attendance records,
activity logs, and safety documentation
Requirements
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings
- Strong background in tutoring or teaching across early childhood or elementary levels
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and development milestones
- Excellent communication skills to connect with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to plan engaging activities that support learning objectives
- Energetic and engaging attitude with a passion for fostering positive youth development
- Vulnerable Sector Check, Criminal Background Check and Basic or Standard First Aid
