Veterinary Technician / Registered Veterinary Technician
Oakville’s first Fear Free Certified practice is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team!
Mac Animal Clinic is a privately owned small animal practice located in beautiful Oakville. We are looking for an RVT to join our team, but we are also open to an experienced veterinary technician who is in the process of becoming registered or who has strong clinical experience and is the right fit for our practice.
Our clinic is equipped with digital dental and full-body radiography, Cornerstone practice management software, advanced anesthetic monitoring equipment, an in-house laboratory, and a fully equipped surgical suite. We also offer separate cat and dog consultation rooms to support a calm, low-stress environment.
Our focus is on providing high-quality, individualized patient care while fostering a boutique, family-like atmosphere. We take pride in building strong relationships with our patients and their families and following up closely to ensure the best possible outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- A Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or an experienced veterinary technician working toward registration
- Confident and skilled in veterinary nursing and patient care
- Experience working in a clinical veterinary setting is strongly preferred, with experience in radiography, laboratory work and inpatient care considered an asset
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Organized, dependable and able to work effectively as part of a close-knit team
- Passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate patient care
- Eager to learn, grow and contribute to the development of our practice
As a Fear Free Certified Practice, experience with Fear Free handling is an asset. However, we are happy to support the right candidate in obtaining their Fear Free certification and developing their skills.
Professional Development & Training
We believe in supporting our team as they develop their clinical skills. For newer RVTs, there is an opportunity to receive additional training and mentorship under the guidance of a specialist anesthesia technician. This provides an excellent opportunity to build confidence and develop advanced anesthesia and patient-monitoring skills in a supportive workplace.
